Postdoctoral Associate Position in Nano & Micro Engineering Laboratory
The Nano & Micro Engineering Laboratory in the Department of Materials Science & Engineering at University of Idaho is inviting applications for research position in the area of nanostructure-based Li rechargeable battery technologies. Applicants should have a recent Ph.D in materials science, electrical engineering, chemical engineering, applied physics, chemistry or closely related fields. Extensive understanding and hands-on design/fabrication/ characterization experience with a broad range of battery technologies are essential. The candidates are expected to experience a broad range of material characterization (SEM, X-ray, TEM), process technologies (electroplating, thin-film deposition such as sputtering and evaporation), and design/characterization of battery devices. The expected starting date is no later than September 15, 2008. Hands-on experience with nanofabrication would be plus. Depending on experience and individual preferences, project opportunities may include the design, fabrication and characterization of materials and devices for cross-disciplinary applications in the future. The appointment is contingent upon evidence of completion of the Ph.D. Postdoctoral associate positions are awarded initially for a 1 year period and may be renewed in 1 year increments for additional years.
