Educational Focus As a result of the continuing efforts to renovate education, the department has established a well-organized and system-oriented curriculum. It comprises of six focus areas, which maintain the balance between the traditional disciplines in aerospace engineering (Aerodynamics, Control, Propulsion, and Structure) and new areas (Aerospace-IT and Aerospace System Design).
System-Oriented Education The department's system-oriented education is offered by various design courses in undergraduate and graduate programs providing practical hands-on experience and system design methodologies. It is also well aligned with the innovative educational initiatives of KAIST. The department is actively participating in the design-oriented Renaissance Ph.D. program and making significant contributions to the Freshmen Design Course (FDC).
Global Presence We are expanding our presence in many countries via various global programs such as student exchange and dual-degree program. The BK 21 (Brain Korea 21) program that we are participating in, which is a multi-year government support program for educating graduate students, is also promoting the international collaborations and student research activities.
