Our department provides the highest quality education and research in the field of aeronautics and astronautics with an innovative curriculum. More design and laboratory classes are being added to give hands-on experience and knowledge to students. The Korean aerospace sector is pursuing many ambitious programs such as the Korean Attack Helicopter (KAH) and Civil Helicopter, Korean Fighter Program (KFX), a 90-seat passenger aircraft, 4-seat KC-100 light aircraft program, many UAV programs, multi-purpose satellites and air traffic and safety projects. Our department is helping industry through being actively engaged in all of these programs. Korea's aerospace industry is expected to see continued growth boosted by the recent success of exporting Korean trainer airplanes (KT-1). The supersonic trainer T50 "Golden Eagle" and Korean Utility Helicopter "Surion" are expected to achieve similar success in export markets. Our department is participating in many international collaboration programs such as National Lunar Exploration with NASA Ames and various joint degree programs with many world-renowned universities.
