Prof. Dae-Young Lee and Ph.D Candidate Gyeongji Kang has been honored with the Top 10 Mechanical Technology Awards of the Year 2024 by the Korean Federation of Mechanical Engineering Societies (KFMES7). The award-winning technology, “Weaving Gripper Capable of Holding Over 100kg with a Weight of Just 130g,” was developed in collaboration with Dr. Kahye Song’s team at KIST. This innovative robotic gripper is implemented using a unique geometric structure called Spiral Weaving. This technology offers several advantages, including a high payload capacity and the ability to capture various objects using a single actuator. The results of this research were published in the October 2023 issue of Nature Communications and have been transferred to Neuromeka.
