The late Professor Hong Chang-sun (March 1, 1944 – January 2, 2020) was appointed to the KAIST Aerospace Engineering Department in 1979, and has trained 136 masters and 86 doctoral students through active education and research activities in the field of composite materials. He served as the 11th President of KAIST.As a member of the 17th National Assembly, he contributed greatly to raising the public understanding of science and technology workers and raising the status of science and technology workers.
