Laboratory Introduction

The Spacecraft Prototyping Laboratory (SPL), led by Prof. Hyosang Yoon, conducts various research and projects related to near-future spacecraft technologies. The focus is on three key areas: free space laser communication (lasercom), modularized star tracker, and satellite orbit guidance, navigation, and control (GNC). Several papers have been published in Satellite Attitude Determination and Control (ADC) and Estimation Theory field. In addition, SPL operates its own optical ground station for astronomical observation, collects and analyzes satellite data, and utilizes them for research. Various challenging projects are performed in cooperation with government-funded research institutes and other universities.
