- Sang-won Kim (B.S.) wins the 2022 Global Leadership Award (Volunteering Division)

Sang-won Kim, an undergraduate student who has been with the Aerospace Engineering (AE) department since 2020, was named the winner of the 2022 Global Leadership Award's Volunteering Division. The Volunteering Division of the Global Leadership Award honors students who consistently display compassion by participating in a variety of volunteer activities.
Since joining KAIST in 2019, Sang-won has participated in various volunteer activities in Tanzania, Cambodia, and Uganda as a KAIST global student volunteer member. In 2019, he led Tanzania's ICT Volunteer Group and won the World Friends ICT Volunteer Group's Best Activity Team Award for building a drone-based climate data transmission and reception system. In 2020, he received the Ministry of Education Award for his work in the University Student Education Volunteer Program. In particular, his volunteer work made a substantial contribution to developing capacity and closing information gaps in the nations he served.
Kim Sang-won's next move as a global leader is expected to continue in the future.
