Ph.D. candidate Yujoo Kang and Associate Professor Sang Lee from our department received the 2nd prize at the 1st SUPERVISION CHALLENGE hosted by the Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information (KISTI). The submitted work, titled “Direct Numerical Simulation of Shockwave-Turbulent Boundary Layer Interaction,” was produced using an in-house code from their lab. The simulation utilized 225 nodes and 15,300 cores of KISTI's Nurion-5 supercomputer over 720 hours to create the final video.
Furthermore, Associate Professor Sang Lee and Ph.D. Candidate Yedam Lee, Hyebin Kim and MS student Donghyun Lee, Byeongheon Yang, Yongjae Kim received 3rd prize. The submitted work titled “UAM Urban Flight Simulation Visualization.” involves generating urban flow simulation data and integrating it with a 6-DOF (Degrees of Freedom) drone model to visualize the impact of urban weather conditions on the UAM.
Lastly Master Junbeom Park, MS student Taeyeon Kwon and Associate Professor Sang Lee from our department received the Encouragement Award. Their entry, titled "Aerodynamic Analysis Simulation of UH-60 Fuselage and Main Rotor in Forward Flight Conditions,"visualized the aerodynamic analysis results of the UH-60 helicopter using Q-criterion, based on the Actuator Line Method and Immersed Boundary Method.
