Laboratory Introduction
In the Spaceflight Mission and Control Lab, we focus on technologies for analyzing space-flight missions as well as guidance, navigation, and control (GNC) algorithms required for such missions. The lab covers various space systems such as orbital and landing systems for planetary exploration, Earth observation satellite systems, and systems requiring rendezvous and docking technologies. In the field of space systems for planetary exploration, we handle various trajectory optimization techniques and research G&C algorithms to enhance landing accuracy. For Earth observation satellite systems, we are developing attitude guidance algorithms while considering various hardware constraints, with a recent emphasis on real-time guidance algorithm generation. In the area of space systems requiring rendezvous and docking, we are dedicated to exploring algorithms for maneuver design in proximity operations and techniques for estimating the state information of target objects using image data.
